Best of the Best GOP Campaign Websites 2010
Best of the Best – 2010 Top GOP Candidate Websites PDF Print E-mail

We’ve peered through and analyzed hundreds of GOP 2010 websites and nominated the following to highlight for their innovation, creativity, elegance, and function.  If you feel we missed a deserving site, please send the website address to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We’ve also included a poll so that you may vote for THE WEBSITE –not the candidate-that you think is best.

www.MarcoRubio.com
Marco Rubio for Senate – Florida

This website is king when it comes to fresh content.  Press releases, campaign blog, social media, video, signup forms are all constantly being updated.  While most political websites rely on facebook and twitter widgets to funnel fresh content to their homepage, the Rubio team has come up with aesthetically pleasing and highly functional means to deliver fresh content across several platforms.

www.Campbell.org
Tom Campbell for Senate- California

The campaign impressively integrates the social networking functionality of Ning with their home website.   The design is virtually seamless and allows supporters to form online communities within the Campbell campaign framework.    This website also demonstrates that a beautiful website can be created with nothing more than fresh background skins.   Easy to create and beautiful.

www.JohnMcCain.com
John McCain for Senate – Arizona

The design of this website is relatively simple, however, Team McCain has built some unique functionality into their site.  Of note, fans of John McCain can upload webcam videos of themselves to a “Supporter Wall”.  Nearly 200 supporters have participated in this project.  The website also includes snips of code for a “virtual yard sign” that supporters can grab and embed on their blogs or facebook pages.

www.ChuckDeVore.com
Chuck Devore for Senate - California

The Devore campaign has given us some of the most creative video clips of the year.  Infact, their material is so good, one of their opponents has virtually copied the content of several of his anti-Boxer ads.  This website does a fantastic job of integrating video every step of the way.  On his issues page, you don’t just read text, you can see the candidate and hear his passion about the issues he cares about.  Video truly brings his website to life.  This is a feature that almost any campaign team can incorporate into their website—and ought to.

www.RandPaul2010.com
Rand Paul for Senate - Kentucky

The Rand Paul site focuses on what counts in politics.  Cash.  The homepage reflects and reinforces the campaign’s online fundraising operation.  The main screen tallies total online contributions while the ticker tape credits recent donors.  This site also features an online store where supports can purchase campaign materials.  The Paul organization utilizes the social networking functionality of Meetup.com –the platform of choice for the liberty movement.   This functionality all works together to fundraise from his ideological base across the country.

www.StevePoizner.com
Steve Poizner for Governor - California

In terms of design, this website breaks the mold.  The home page is clean without much clutter.  The site is organized to get you where you want to go quickly.  Very easy to navigate.  The site makes use of “call from home” software – a tool we’ll be seeing a lot more of in the 2010 election.

www.Schiffforsenate.com
Peter Schiff for Senate - Connecticut

A simple, beautiful, clean website. That emphasizes fundraising and upcoming events.

www.MarkForGov.com
Mark Neumann for Governor Wisconsin

One of the most interactive GOP websites we’ve seen.  You can create your own account and keep track of upcoming events near you, join and keep up with campaign groups, and organize your own online fundraising efforts.  The Neumann campaign is using an instant messenger service enabling visitors to send and receive instant messages with the campaign staff.   This is a beautiful website with excellent functionality.

All of these websites are, in our opinion - phenomenal.  They represent the best of our party and demonstrate how far the GOP has come in such a short time.  We tip our hats to them all.  We will seek to promote and learn from their technology pros as this campaign season marches on.

0 #4 McCain Website 2010-05-25 06:56
Supported McCain in his presidential bid, but didn't expect to receive emails and solicitations in perpetuity. Wouldn't it be nice if an "unsubscribe" link actually worked! I wouldn't put any site in a top 10 list that didn't respect subscribers' wishes.
